Homicide investigators Marty Brennan (Scott Brady) and Chuck Jones (Jim Cardwell) are assigned to track down the killer of a fellow cop.
Davis Morgan (Richard Basehart) is a slick customer, and quick with his gun. When Brennan and Jones encounter him, the bullets fly fast, and soon Morgan is on the lam. The cops are painstakingly gathering the facts that will bring him down.
It’s a chance sighting by a postman that leads the cops to Morgan’s hide-out. He slips the net though, and soon, a dragnet is in force as the killer goes underground. The whole “ripped from the headlines” genre started here.
